3) Cancellation policies during COVID-19: What happens if you or us have to cancel a class?

While we are glad that Alaska has not been hit as hard as some other states and countries, we still want to act responsibly and urge all our clients to respect our guidelines and policies. Our goal is to make everybody FEEL SAFE, clients and employees, just like in our dog training philosophy.

We are continuing all our Treibball classes online in the VIRTUAL CLASSROOM and are looking into expanding that online service beyond the end of June.

Enjoy life with your better companion,

Claudia

We will try to hold as many sessions as possible outside on our fenced field! Good thing our dogs don't need to wear masks!
1) June Classes - IN-PERSON classes:

Behavior classes offered:

Puppy 1 - Preschool: For puppies 8 weeks to 5 months
Puppy 2 - Kindergarten: For Puppy 1 graduates
Foundation Class: For all dogs 6 months and older starting with us
Grade School: For Puppy 2 and Foundation Class graduates

Our June Behavior classes are offered on Wednesday or Thursday evenings, depending on the class. See detailed schedule below.

K9 Nose Work® - Elements Class:

Offered on Wednesday evenings, at 6:00 - 7:00 PM. If we end up with 1-2 students on the wait list, we might extend the class and run it from 5:30 - 7:00 PM.

COVID-19 Precautions:

What WE will do to keep everybody as safe as possible:

- Classes will be held outdoors in the fenced field (or parking lot for Nose Work) as much as possible. Please dress accordingly and bring your own mosquito repellent! We can choose to go inside if weather is bad (high winds, rain).

- We will minimize two-way traffic and space all students generously. Demonstrations of exercises will be done either with our plush dog Rover or with the instructor's dog.

- When helping an individual student at their station, the instructor will wear a face mask and try their best to keep a six foot distance to the handler, while working with the dog or coaching the handler.

- We will spray the touch areas in the bathroom, facility or used area every evening as good as possible with an anti-viral disinfectant. We won't be able to clean after each use.

- We will follow the same sick-rules and travel rules we ask you to follow - even if it means we need to postpone the continuation of classes. Classes will NOT be canceled, but could be held and end at a later date.

What we want YOU to do to keep everybody as safe as possible:

- Practice social distancing and follow our one-way instructions where applicable.

- Bring your own face mask to wear when the instructor comes to your station for individual help and during play times (puppies only).

- Bring footwear and clothing according to the weather and your own chair for classes held outside.

- Enter and exit the facility or field at the beginning and end of class times with your face mask on.

- When using our bathroom, spray all surfaces you touched after your use with the spray provided.

- Do not come if you are sick or if a family member is sick; if you have been possibly exposed to COVID-19 or if you have been traveling out-of-state within the last 14 days.

- Contact us ASAP if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or if you have been exposed to somebody who has been tested positive for COVID-19!!!

- We will have you sign a waiver at the first class, that includes illness in our wording, additionally to injury, unless you already signed our newest version online.

Offered in June:

Wednesdays, starting June 10th, 2020:

K9 Nose Work® - Elements at 6:00 - 7:00 PM
Grade School at 7:30 - 8:30 PM

Thursdays, starting June 11th, 2020:

Puppy 2 - Kindergarten at 5:00 - 6:00 PM
Puppy 1 - Preschool at 6:15 - 7:15 PM
Foundation Class at 7:30-8:30 PM

There will be no classes on July 1st and 2nd. Last classes will be held on July 22nd and 23rd, 2020.

2) Open Play Times and Doggy Daycare re-opening!

We look forward to supervise doggy play again, either together with you at our Open Play Times on Friday evenings or for you during our daycare days, Tuesday through Thursday.

Open Play Times will be outside as much as possible, rain or shine in June. By July we will decide if we are comfortable changing to indoors if weather is uncooperative.

No Open Play Times on July 3rd, in observance of Independence Day.

Times will be again 5:30 - 6:30 PM for small breeds, 6:30 - 7:30 PM for the puppies and medium sized dogs and 7:30 - 8:30 PM for our larger and rambunctious dogs.

Precautions WE are taking:

- Open Play Times in June will be held outside, rain or shine! We will not provide seating - bring your own chair. The picnic table will be reserved for the supervisors only.

- We will start with a maximum of 8 dogs in each group, to allow for spacious social distancing.

- We will wear face masks as much as needed during play, so that we can quickly jump in where needed.

- We will spray the touch areas in the bathroom, facility or used area every evening as good as possible with an anti-viral disinfectant. We won't be able to clean after each use.

- We will follow the same sick-rules and travel rules we ask you to follow - even if it means we need to cancel Open Play Times or Daycare because of lack of personnel.

Precautions we want YOU to take:

- Pay for Open Play Time punch cards ahead of time through the office. You can ask us how many visits you have left at any time bu email or phone.

- You will need to sign a new waiver, that has added illness to the already existing injury. We can email you the waiver on request for you to sign and email back before your first visit.

- Please only come with a maximum of two people per dog, and only the second person can be a junior, the main handler has to be an adult.

- Practice social distancing and follow our one-way instructions where applicable.

- Bring your own face mask to wear for entering and exiting the facility or field (during switchover times) and while helping any dogs during play.

- Bring footwear and clothing according to the weather and your own chair for play times held outside.

- When using our bathroom, spray all surfaces you touched after your use with the spray provided.

- Do not come if you are sick or if a family member is sick, if you have been possibly exposed to COVID-19 or if you have been traveling out-of-state within the last 14 days.

- Contact us ASAP if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or if you have been exposed to somebody who has been tested positive for COVID-19!!!
We are looking forward to see our daycare friends again!
3) Cancellation policies during COVID-19:

What happens if you or us have to cancel a class?

Watching the development of the pandemic in Alaska, we are hoping that the following scenarios aren't coming into play. But we do want to be prepared and have a plan for the worst case possible.

Our regular class cancellation policy is in place:

If WE can’t get you into the class you paid for, a FULL refund can be given for up to 60 days after the payment was made.

If YOU cancel the class you signed up for, latest 7 days prior to the class start, we can move your payment to a later or different class for no additional cost or refund your payment. We will withhold a $10 cancellation fee of the refund.

If you paid via PayPal or credit card more than 60 days ago (provided you canceled before the cancellation deadline), an additional 5% will be subtracted from any refund given to cover the card fees.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.

No cancellation can be accepted and no credit or refund given within the last seven days before the class starts or for dropping out during the class. It will be too late for us to fill your spot, and once the class started, you already received our full class curriculum. No refund will be given and you will have to pay again for a later class.

Additional COVID-19 specific policies:

If you have to miss one or more class sessions due to becoming sick, a person in your household being sick, having been in contact with a person exposed or sick from COVID-19, or needing to self-quarantine after traveling, we will handle that the same way we would handle it if you or your dog would have been sick before this pandemic.

There will be no refunds given, no free make-up classes available and you can't switch to another class, if your class has already started.

You can schedule and pay for a 30 minute make-up session through our office to catch you up in person, or rely on our detailed class curriculum to work through the exercises you missed.

If we have to cancel one or more class sessions due to any of our staff members being sick or under the same circumstances as outlined above for our clients, we will postpone the classes and continue as soon as possible.

Even if we would need to shut down the facility for 14 days because of anybody (us, an employee or a client) having tested positive (possibly even just because of having been in contact with a person outside who tested positive for COVID-19), we will postpone the classes and finish them accordingly later.

We will not give any refunds for classes missed because they were held during a later week than originally planned. This is all our risk and out of our hands.

Open Play Times and Daycare will not be charged for cancelled dates and resume as soon as possible, when the facility is cleared and the staff available again to supervise play.

For now, let's focus on how happy we all are to see you and your dog(s) again!
Stay safe and stay healthy,

Claudia
